This engineering competition challenges student teams to design and speed-build a 2-story wood light-framed building. The team has been using the fundamentals of the Design Thinking Process to analyze the new rules for the competition and ideate a unique design that not only meets this year’s parameters but goes above and beyond.

Past Years
The 2024-2025 Timber Strong Team had an amazing year. Their design and hard practice won them 1st at the 2025 ASCE Great Lakes East Symposium! The build was strong, and it achieved only 11% material waste. This meant it was light and fast to build.
Their fantastic results from the regional competition earned them a spot at the national showcase at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California.
